May 4, 2012 - Spokane, WA - 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

This new course pertains to promoting job safety for workers with developmental disabilities. As with all other workers, workers with developmental disabilities (WDD) are at risk for work-related injury or illness. However the risks for WDD are increased by disorders that impact the worker's ability to be aware of danger, manage impulsive or restless behaviors, or limit communication abilities.

There is a need for teaching WDD to identify workplace hazards, know what to do in an emergency and how to speak up appropriately about safety problems are key steps to promoting the health and safety of WDD. To address this need, this one day workshop will be offered May 3rd in Tukwila and May 4th in Spokane.
